Looking for romantic date ideas for the summer? Here are 5 that will ignite your love!

Summertime is here and it’s the perfect time to go on your last first date. The weather is warm and sunny, and there are many exciting things to do. You can have fun out on the town, or you can dine in at home. Read on for some romantic fun date ideas for the summer.

5 Fun Date Ideas for the Summer

1. Dinner and a Movie

For a second or third date, you can always depend on the classic dinner and movie. See a movie during the day, and you’ll have an interesting discussion about what you liked and didn’t like about the movie. You can learn a lot about how someone sees the world by their reflections on a film.

Talk to your date about what kind of movies they like, so you can pick something you’ll both enjoy (nothing too scary or politically charged for now).

For dinner, it’s probably best to choose a restaurant you’ve been to before so you can make a safe recommendation to your date. You’ll be glad you did.

2. Dine-In Picnic

While going out on the town is fun, it can be equally exciting and romantic to dine in at home. Set up a candle-lit patio dinner out by the pool or have a picnic in the backyard. If your backyard doesn’t exactly “set the mood,” make some upgrades to give the space a more romantic feel. You’ll be surprised to see how a vibrant patio umbrella and twinkle lights make a world of a difference. Prepare a picnic basket with a bottle of wine and light finger foods and enjoy each other’s company.

3. Art Museum

Art museums show that you appreciate the finer things in life. It’s also a great chance to get to know one another’s style and interests. Don’t be worried that there won’t be much to talk about. There are plenty of things you can discuss and observe. Ask your date which piece of art is his favorite and why. Or ask him what he thinks of the piece you’re looking at and compare your opinions. You might be surprised by some of his answers, which gives you even more insight into who he is.

4. Concert

If you enjoy music, take your date to a concert. You can discuss which concert to go to with your date, but you may want to take the lead and give yourself a chance to share one of your interests, and see how your date reacts. If he enjoys it as much as you do, that could say a lot about the potential of the relationship. If he thinks it’s horrible, that’s all right, too. You don’t have to agree on everything to be compatible. It can even make for a funny story later on in the relationship.

5. Hiking

If you want to get some fresh air, exercise, and great conversation with low pressure, a hike is a great idea. Being outdoors and working out together can facilitate positive emotions and you’ll have plenty of time to talk and get to know one another. You’ll also be sure to work up an appetite during the hike, so choose a local brunch spot and enjoy a meal together.
