Dating Terminology: Ghosting, Benching, Breadcrumbing, and More!


You may have heard these dating terms. And if you’re over 40, you’re probably wondering what they mean.


Here’s a brief explanation of the new dating terminology:

Ghosting: When someone suddenly ceases contact with no warning.

Benching: Intermittent dating with no commitment.

Breadcrumbing: Giving someone just enough attention to keep them hanging on but really keeping them in relationship limbo.

Love bombing: Giving someone excessive attention at the start of dating. This is often done by manipulative or needy people.
