EP 515: Bela Gandhi – Online Dating Tips for Summer Love

What are some online dating tips to find love this summer, now that COVID restrictions are lifting?

Successful dating begins and ends in your mind. Having a positive mindset is the way to go. Psychotic optimism means you believe love exists for you. It’s a when not an if!

Change ‘have to date’ to ‘get to date’. Get to learn other people’s stories and put you in the mindset of privilege.

The most successful people are positive about the process.

What are some of the top mistakes people make in online dating?

Get counseling from someone who helps you with your profile and photos. Are you putting out the best photos and profile that shows you at your best? Showcase your best self, and keep negativity out of your profile.

How do you help clients gain clarity on who’s their best partner?

We work with them for three to twelve months, and every client fills out a marriage map, delineating what they want vs what they need. We dig in deep, because it’s critical work. They can look for the qualities they want and need, and discern the red flags they should stay away from. You want to have ‘multiple horses in the race’.

What are your final words of advice for anyone who wants to go on their last first date?

Believe that it’s going to happen. Be optimistic for yourself just like you’d be for your best friend. Talk to you like you would to your best friend. You don’t have to do this alone.
