How to Be More Compassionate in Dating

When we’re not compassionate, we harshly judge the men we’re dating. We look for what’s wrong, not what’s right. We often rule a man out based on our assumptions and triggers from our past.

There’s a cost involved for our harsh judgment. We can overlook a good man who might be an ideal match for us. And if we don’t have compassion for ourselves, we’re still beating ourselves up for things we did in the past. This can lead to self-sabotage, and the possibility of pushing away a good man.

What can we do instead?

Begin a practice of compassion. Instead of judgment of ourselves and the men we date, get curious. Find out more about the man in front of you instead of judging him based on something that happened to you in the past.

Listen to a story of a date I had with a man I never would have dated had I not practiced compassion.
