How did you get involved in relationship coaching?

After my divorce many years ago, I discovered there were many things I needed to learn about relationships. I got into personal development work and studied the best of the best. I never wanted to repeat my painful experience again. I started getting results in myself and others. I’m blessed to do this work for 12 years now.

Tell us about your new podcast, “Why haven’t I found love yet?”

In the podcast, I’m coaching women who are not clients. I’m doing the detective work of coaching; where are they now, where are they blocked, and why do they keep getting the same lessons, but don’t move forward? We are the common denominator in every relationship. I help them uncover their patterns and the unresolved wounds based on their history.

What are some reasons why women haven’t found the love they want?

  1. Daddy issues.
  2. Beliefs and biases.
  3. Sexual assault or rape that they’ve internalized and made about themselves.
  4. Children of divorce who have abandonment or perceived rejection issues.
  5. Any problems that occur during the first 7 years of life that affect our romantic relationships.

How do you help your clients repair the issues that keep them stuck?

In every session, the awareness they come away with is 70 percent of the way there. The reason their problems and patterns are recurring is the lack of consciousness about the issue. I coach them on how to move forward in a healthier way. A lot of women don’t know their value. But they expect their date to see it. I help them show up with their value.

What is the number one misconception that sabotages potential partnerships?

Unresolved wounds, and not knowing your value. If you love yourself first, other people will step in and love you. Focus on what’s possible. Be open.
