Women Over 40: How to Overcome Body Shame
If you struggle with body shame, you must watch this video. My guest shares tips to help you truly love the body you’re in.
As a love coach for women over 40, it’s my mission to help women value themselves first. I believe that a woman of value attracts her best partner and lives her best life.
Along comes that nasty saboteur…body shame. Why do so many women dislike their bodies so much? Unfortunately it often starts at a young age, and the shame is perpetuated by the media with unrealistic images of what women ‘should’ look like in order to be seen as beautiful and sexy. This body shame gets in the way of women having the love we deserve. It’s time to change that!
Overcoming Body Shame
I interviewed nutritionist and personal trainer, Anne Iarchy, about how to overcome body shame. She works with clients who are struggling with weight loss.
Divorce, death in the family, and other major life events can be cause for weight gain, which in turn often leads to lack of self esteem and confidence issues.
Her approach involves mindset shifts, healthy eating habits and regular exercise, and her clients achieve a healthier lifestyle, a positive attitude towards life, and long lasting results!
Key takeaways from the video:
- Know your why. If you don’t know why you want to lose weight, you won’t stay motivated.
- Don’t focus on your past. Start where you are today.
- We can’t always be perfect. Expect ups and and downs along the way.
- Don’t change everything overnight. It’s not realistic. Replace a few small things at a time.
Think about “Who’s the person I’m going to become?” If you want to be at your best, make slow changes.
